Prior to announcing an international construction tender for a photovoltaic solar stations of industrial importance in Armenia the Investment Forum will be held within “Energy Week” events in Yerevan on January 25-27. The goal of the forum is to discuss possibilities to attract investors for the construction of the solar stations. The active participation of foreign and local investors, international financial organizations is expected.

At the end of last year the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved the investment project for the construction of photovoltaic solar stations, the total investment cost of which is estimated about $129 million. Within the project, it is planned to build stations of industrial importance with a capacity of up to 110 MW in various regions of Armenia.

Spanish “Aries engineering” consulting company has already done and presented a technical-economic study for 2 of 6 selected sites for the construction of solar power plants. They refer to “Masrik” and “Dashtadem” sites of the administrative borders of the provinces of Gegharkunik and Aragatsotn.

It is planned to announce an international tender in February. One of the main conditions of the tender will be the offered price. In other words, the advantage will be given to the minimum tariff proposal.
